Commercial Optimisation Manager

Based in: Iver, Buckinghamshire, UK and Internationally as required

Responsible for:

 

Trading strategy for Solar Hybrids and Electric Forecourts. Working with our Route to Market / Optimisation partners to ensure revenue is maximized across the portfolio of Grid Power Assets.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Working in close collaboration with GRIDSERVE’s Route to Market / Optimisation partners to ensure our day-to-day trading strategy for our growing portfolio of Grid Power Assets (Solar Hybrid and Electric Forecourt) is always optimised

  • Researching and preparing the business for new revenues, trading strategies and ancillary service opportunities

  • Performing deep analysis of past events to inform future trading strategy improvements

  • Preparation of Commercial Performance Reports for the portfolio of assets

  • Running tenders for newly constructed assets to identify GRIDSERVE’s preferred Route to Market / Optimisation provider

  • Working in collaboration with GRIDSERVE’s O&M team to ensure our assets never miss an opportunity

  • Assist in other related duties as and when requested by GRIDSERVE® Senior Management

  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes including anti-bribery policy and Environmental and Quality Management System (compliant with ISO 9001 and 14001).

 

Skills Required:

  • Strong knowledge of the GB Energy Market, revenue streams and regulations

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in energy trading or Battery energy storage optimization

  • 1st Class or 2:1 Degree or BSc, MSC level qualification in computer science, maths, physics or similar subject matters

  • Ability to understand the wider commercial implications of projects

  • Experience with PPAs and financial Modelling experience is highly desirable

  • Experience of development of optimisation algorithms for the power markets is highly desirable

  • Hands-on approach, flexible and positive attitude

  • Attention to detail and strong focus on accuracy of information

  • Team oriented and strong communication skills to work in and across the business

  • Innovative with sound judgement and solutions driven

  • Cordial and professional

  • Effective communication both verbally and in written form

  • High accuracy and attention to detail

  • Excellent organisational skills, with a proven ability to successfully multi-task
