If you’re thinking about leasing a Lexus electric car, make sure you consider the UX 300e. As the brand’s first-ever fully electric vehicle, the UX 300e is one of the latest instalments in the growing UX range. This includes a selection of hybrids and hybrid plugins alongside the 100% battery-operated 300e.
Modelled after the original UX hybrid, the 300e is a compact SUV that’s big on safety, interior comfort, convenience, and enhanced driving dynamics. So while its performance may not be quite as powerful as, say, the Jaguar I-PACE or the Tesla Model-3, it’s still an impressive addition to the collection.
Key highlights
There are two key highlights when it comes to choosing Lexus and the UX 300e for your electric car leasing needs. The first is that this particular model was built at the world-famous Kyushu plant in Japan, alongside some of the brand’s most iconic models such as the RX. All hybrid and electric models, and the entire ‘Lexus Electrified’ range have been built here, so precision and attention to detail are guaranteed.
The second highlight is that the UX 300e doesn’t look like an electric car. It looks like a Lexus. There’s nothing ‘out there’ or futuristic about its appearance; it’s simple, straightforward, and beautiful. The overall interior and exterior design of the 300e was lifted straight from the original UX hybrid, giving it that same, elegantly sculpted body. The only differences are a bespoke auto gear selector, a display tailored to electric driving, and a slightly bigger boot space that gives you more room for shopping or luggage.
Performance & range
The UX 300e gets up to 62mph in 7.5 seconds, and can travel 196 miles on a single charge. While these statistics certainly aren’t breaking any records, there are plenty of benefits to choosing this model. These include a fast 53-minute charge time from 0-80%, and intelligent battery monitoring and optimisation.

When it comes to EV leasing, the UX range by Lexus isn’t your only choice. While the UX collection is comfort-focused, Volvo’s XC40 Recharge Pure Electric is the performance-focused alternative. It boasts a greater range of up to 259 miles thanks to its dual motors, but lacks that unrivalled luxury of a Lexus. You could also consider the Mercedes EQC which is similar in size.
