Finance Business Partner - FTC

Based at: Iver, Buckinghamshire, UK, Office

Fixed-term contract, Immediate start


Role overview:


This is a newly created fixed-term role within an exciting, entrepreneurial environment. 


We are looking for an individual who, along with being a qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA), has commercial awareness, an investigative mind and a flair for detail that underpins sound advice. The Finance Business Partner will work with internal and external stakeholders to deliver on two key main areas - preparing and delivering a budget for 2020 and supporting due diligence activities.

The role reports to the Financial Controller and is a 6 month fixed-term contract.


With a minimum of 5 years’ experience (post qualification) in a similar role, you will be responsible for:


  • Supporting budget holders with budgeting and forecasting, ensuring assumptions are challenged and the budget plans are affordable and deliverable, with risks and opportunities accessed and recorded

  • Challenging budget holders to drive through efficiencies and improvements in all processes

  • Analysing other financial and non-financial business information for use in the budget and due diligence processes, including collection of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Assisting in the delivery of financial due diligence required by investors, including provision of information and responding to queries in a timely manner

  • Interaction with senior levels of management and exposure to business owners, to understand areas such as historical and projected business performance, wider commercial issues, investor relations, etc.



Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in preparation and delivery of budgets and forecasts

  • Proven experience in preparation of documents associated with due diligence activities

  • Strong analytical skills and commercial awareness

  • Confident in challenging the status quo and always looking for continuous improvement

  • Strong IT skills, with high proficiency in the use of MS Excel, Word & PowerPoint and experience manipulating large volumes of data for the evaluation of multiple scenarios

  • An understanding and familiarity with Xero accounting software, would also be advantageous

  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders

  • Ability to adopt a flexible working style

  • Strong communication skills including questioning, listening and presentation skills

  • High level of accuracy, diligence and integrity

  • Commercially minded and a critical thinker
