Project Manager, Solar & Battery Storage Projects

Based at: UK Iver Office, SL0 and Project Sites as required

 

Role Overview:

To effectively plan, negotiate, budget and monitor all phases of project delivery process in order to achieve successful completion of such projects whilst meeting Company standards and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage a portfolio of projects for GRIDSERVE business, to ensure that contractual and other relevant requirements are met

  • Oversee projects from inception to completion, produce and maintain an overview of each project, including program, critical path, deliverables, driving progress against a project plan

  • Manage preparation works required for timely design inputs, including ground investigation, pile tests, resistivity tests, utility surveys etc.

  • Produce and manage Scope of Works, Risk Register/ RAID Log, H&S/ Quality/ Environmental Management Plan and Cash Flow for each project

  • Work with construction team to create a list of approved contractors, ensuring all sub-contractors are vetted through GRIDSERVE Pre-Qualification process

  • Obtain and analyse all proposals/quotations from approved contractors, consultants and suppliers

  • Lead contractual negotiations with Sub-contractors, populate Sub-Contractor Agreements and advise commercial teams on agreed terms of business

  • Manage project procurement and liaise with site management for deliveries of materials, plant and equipment to site

  • Manage communication with clients, contractors, suppliers, utility owners, DNO, Project Team, and Senior Management throughout the project preparation and execution, provide regular updates/reports as required

  • Conduct regular site visits and audits to ensure compliance with H&S, Quality and Environmental plans and other site procedures/ requirements

  • Manage project completion and acceptance including tests and commissioning for each work activity, snagging list, work completion tests, PAC and handover to the O&M team

  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes including anti-bribery policy and Environmental and Quality Management System and Policy (compliant with ISO 9001 and 14001).

Skills Required: 

 

  • Engineering/Project/Civil management qualification with experience of project managing large scale solar projects

  • Proficient user of project management tools – i.e. PRINCE2 or MS Project

  • Excellent project planning, change and time management abilities

  • Strong knowledge of H&S and Environmental regulations for design and construction, Quality standards and industry best practice

  • SMSTS qualification is highly desirable

  • Experience with managing various stakeholders and sub-contractors

  • Self-driven, focused, results and quality oriented

  • Strong negotiation skills

  • Team player and innovative with sound judgement and solutions driven

  • The ability to foster self-motivation to achieve tight deadlines

  • Cordial and professional with excellent client facing skills

  • Effective communication both verbally and in written form

  • Ability to use MS suite of packages at intermediate level or above
