Retail Operations Site Manager

Based in:  Braintree, Essex, UK

Role Overview:

Responsible for the P&L of the Electric Forecourt (EF), localised site performance, partnership management and onsite Electric Forecourt customer experience. Ensuring the site is run to the O&M standards and are accountable for the whole site well-being. 

This is a role for a dynamic, ambitious and forward-thinking Retail Operations Manager to join our Commercial team to develop and manage the retail experience in the Electric Forecourt.       

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage all the ‘onsite and day to day’ business partner relationships working in collaboration to deliver exceptional standards, operational efficiency and sales optimization

  • A genuine commitment to making people happy - guest and team alike

  • Responsible for analyzing performance, establishing new opportunities and implementing plans with pace

  • Ensure all staff members are aware of all current promotions and products through regular briefings

  • Deliver excellent client service and client management

  • Assist in achieving all financial targets

  • Adhere and apply all licensing laws

  • Monitor and manage maintenance issues and all contractors on site

  • Ensure that all Daily standards Audit are completed

  • Manage a team of team members to ensure brand standards and customer service levels are achieved

  • Ability to deliver against quality and performance of the Electric Forecourt, set up feedback processes and raise the standards to exceed expectations

  • Responsible for managing and maintaining to high brand standards, including the communal and serviceable areas

  • Work alongside the management team to continually improve the product and service on the EF

  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes including anti-bribery policy and Environmental and Quality Management System (compliant with ISO 9001 and 14001).

Skills Required:

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience within a multi-operator services retail environment

  • Must have experience of opening new Retail sites

  • Previous experience in managing P&L for the retail site including, preparation and delivering against budgets and sales forecasting

  • Confident and articulate, able to engage with a range of stakeholders both internal and external

  • An eye for detail, handling all paperwork incl. health and safety and other controls with the utmost care and attention

  • Although working hours will be aligned to core business, candidates will be flexible and willing to work a range of early/late shifts, weekends and bank holidays when the demands of the role require to do so

  • Enthusiastic, determined and passionate about Retail with 1st calls standards

  • Innovative, confident and pro-active approach

  • Be able to work independently and know when to escalate issues

  • Self-driven, focused, results and quality oriented.  The ability to foster self-motivation to achieve tight deadlines

  • Team player, innovative with sound judgement and solutions driven

  • Able to approach work with positive energy and integrity

  • Cordial and professional with excellent client facing skills and effective communication both verbally and in written form

  • Computer literate.  Must be a proficient user of Microsoft suite of packages including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint, where needed.

  • Operational Retail hours, 7 days a week, 7am-10pm.

GRIDSERVE® is responsible for building the UK’s first Electric Forecourt.

 

Our first site at Braintree, Essex will be one of the most technically advanced electric vehicle charging stations for 32 electric charging bays powered by 100% renewable energy with a retail facility above, featuring a high quality lounge for customers to use while their vehicles are charging.  This also acts as an educational area, providing information about electric vehicles, solar energy generation and ecology. The proposal includes extensive landscaping and a picnic area, creating an attractive environment in harmony with nature.
