The Proace Electric is built for Toyota by the Stellantis Group, making it a carbon copy of the Vauxhall Vivaro Electric, Peugeot e-Expert and Citroen e-Dispatch. That also means it’s one of the best medium-sized electric vans on sale, with strong levels of standard equipment.

Key highlights

The Toyota Proace Electric comes in one body size, one generously equipped trim level and two battery pack sizes: 50kWh or 75kWh. It can tow up to 1,000kg (with a braked trailer) and comes fitted with a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system as standard. It’s worth noting that it’s the smaller 50kWh version that offers the maximum 1,200kg payload.

Performance and range

The 50kWh battery is good for a claimed 142 miles between charges, while the larger 75kWh battery has an official range of 205 miles. The Toyota Proace Electric also comes with 100kW-capable charging as standard, meaning a 0-80% top-up using a GRIDSERVE Electric Super Hub could take between 32-48 minutes, depending on the battery size.
