GRIDSERVE has enjoyed its strongest start to a year yet, delivering a record first and second quarter for new charging infrastructure as it continues to expand the UK’s ultra-rapid EV charging network.

During the first six months of 2026, the company added 285 bays to the network across 24 new or expanded Electric Super Hub locations across the UK, as well as opening its fifth flagship Electric Forecourt at Markham Vale, located off Junction 29A of the M1.

Other headline additions to the GRIDSERVE Electric Highway included Moto Lymm on the M6, a brand new 24-bay site that immediately ranks among the largest public EV charging locations in the North West, and Moto Tamworth, another all-new 32-bay Super Hub featuring eight dedicated drive-through charging bays for extra-large electric vehicles.

The new drive-through charging layout has been designed specifically for the emerging classes of electric HGVs, electric coaches and electric tow cars pulling caravans or trailers, allowing drivers to recharge without needing to unhitch.

Markham Vale Electric Forecourt opens 

Thanks to the Markham Vale Electric Forecourt, GRIDSERVE continues to raise the bar for EV charging experiences in the UK. The fifth and most advanced Forecourt yet features 39 ultra-rapid EV charging bays, including three dedicated bays for disabled drivers and three drive-through bays for extra-large EVs.

It’s here that customers can plug into the latest 400kW-capable chargers and enjoy premium lounge facilities including free Wi-Fi, Costa Coffee and a Little Fresh convenience store.

GRIDSERVE Plus members receive more benefits 

Away from infrastructure, GRIDSERVE continued to expand the list of benefits available through its hugely popular GRIDSERVE Plus membership programme. This offers drivers 25% off all charging sessions along the GRIDSERVE Electric Highway and drops plenty of seasonal perks including free coffees and free EV health checks.

To mark National Pet Month over the Easter period, members received complimentary dog-e-bags filled with treats and toys for their four-legged friends, while visitors to the Norwich Electric Forecourt – a holiday charging hot spot – were also offered professional pet photography sessions.
