The Audi Q8 e-tron is the new name for the Audi e-tron, which was the German car maker’s first all-electric model. The Q8 e-tron is available as a regular SUV or as a Sportback, which gives it a sloping roof and, as the name suggests, a sportier look. The new model gets technology and design updates over its predecessor while maintaining a high level of comfort and practicality.
Key highlights of the Audi Q8 e-tron
The Audi Q8 e-tron stands out for its classy design and attention-to-detail you’d expect from a luxury electric car.
Another highlight is the level of equipment available as standard, including an electric tailgate, keyless entry, heated seats and wireless phone charging, plus a number of Audi’s latest safety systems. Step up into higher-specs and you’ll get things like the digital door mirrors.
Inside, it’s trademark Audi – elegant and extremely high quality, with two big screens to control various systems as well as advanced voice control. It’s spacious inside for all the family, too, and a generous 569 litre boot (boosted by an extra 62 litres under the bonnet) will swallow pretty much anything you might need to pack for the daily grind or a weekend away.
Audi Q8 e-tron performance and range
The Q8 e-tron offers a secure, composed and deeply relaxing driving experience. A comfortable ride, extremely low noise levels and effortless performance means it’s the perfect companion for long distances, while a high driving position means it isn’t too intimidating around town.
Engineers have flexed their muscles to eke out even more mileage from the batteries, too. The 95kWh option delivers around 280 miles of range on a charge (the Sportback is more aerodynamic and so adds a few miles to that), while a larger 114kWh battery option offers a strong official range of up to 331 miles.
It’s quick off the line as well, with 0-62mph coming up in 6.0 seconds in the base spec and in the hot Q8S variant that drops to 4.5 seconds. That’s sports car numbers in a family SUV.
