The BMW iX is something really outstanding: a powerful and efficient all-electric SUV that can run and run between charges. Even by the German manufacturer’s high standards, it’s a real achievement.
The iX is a serious rival to similar models such as the Audi e-tron and the Tesla Model X, but it’s also a very valid alternative to the BMW X5. With this SUV, you don’t need to sacrifice power or driving enjoyment in order to keep emissions at zero.
And if you’re leasing the iX for business purposes, you’ll pay an ultra-low Benefit in Kind (BIK) tax rate on your lease.
Key highlights
The iX is a masterpiece of sustainability and style. The car is manufactured using recycled plastic and secondary aluminium. The attractive and luxurious interior is made with natural materials, including Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified wood, recovered fishing nets, and naturally tanned leather.
Performance & range
If you’re leasing the BMW iX, you can choose from two different models: the xDrive40 and the xDrive50.
With 300 hp, the xDrive40 can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in about six seconds. Its range is comparable to that of the Audi e-tron, with over 249 miles between charges.
That’s already impressive, but the xDrive50 is another step up. With 500 hp, it can hit 60 mph in under five seconds and has a class-leading range of 373 miles between charges.
Both models are fast and easy to replenish. Using rapid charging, you can get the battery from 10% to 80 in less than forty minutes. The maximum charging capacities are a little different: 150 kW for the xDrive40, and 200 kW for the xDrive 50.
Either model is a great option for your EV lease, but SUV enthusiasts will certainly appreciate the extra edge delivered by the xDrive50.
