Fisker is an American car manufacturer that launched in 2016 and has been working on its first model ever since. Think the name sounds familiar? You’d be right. Owner Henrik Fisker ran Fisker Automotive in the mid 2000s before it ran into difficulties. Now he’s back with a new EV company.

Fisker is an electric vehicle company with big ambitions. Owner Fisker is a designer by trade having worked for BMW and Aston Martin, including penning a couple of models that James Bond took for a spin. So, you can be sure any model that Fisker makes will look the part.
Fisker & EVs
The original Fisker was focused on EVs with the plug-in hybrid Fisker Karma rolled out as the first model. It was pioneer of its time but never really took off before the company fell into trouble. The new incarnation of the brand is equally focused on EVs, with a family of zero-emission models planned, from small SUVs, to sports cars and a pickup truck.
Top models
The first model to reach the UK this year will be the Fisker Ocean – a 400-mile family SUV that will be loaded with clever technology inside and out (including a solar roof). There will be various trims level like Extreme or Ultra depending on what your preference is. Also in the pipeline is a city car called the PEAR, a pickup truck known as Alaska and a convertible, four-door sports car named Ronin. There are no dates as to when we’ll see those, though.

When Fisker first started it was a contemporary of Tesla, with stylish, tech-first designs and little has changed. You should also consider Polestar or Genesis as close rivals – those brands that do things a little bit differently.
