The Jeep Avenger is the rugged 4x4 brand’s first ever electric car. But don’t let that put you off, because as first attempts go it’s a very strong one. The Avenger has a stylish design, smart interior and affordable leasing costs, while managing a good range on a charge for a small electric SUV.
Key highlights of the Jeep Avenger
Famed for selling all-American gas-guzzling off-roaders, it’s perhaps no surprise that Jeep took quite a while to launch an electric car. But the new Jeep Avenger isn’t a vanity project: with the backing and technology of the wider Stellantis group it’s a very capable electric SUV to lease..
The rugged looks help it stand out from the competition, while the interior is built to last and comes with cheerful colour options on higher trims. All versions get an intuitive 10.25-inch touchscreen system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, so a wide variety of tech is at your fingertips.
The Jeep Avenger looks larger than it actually is, because it’s barely over four metres long. That means it’s a doddle to park and drive through town, although bigger competitors offer more passenger space. A comfortable drive combines with Jeep’s famed off-road ability, with various drive modes for different terrain you might tackle.
Jeep Avenger performance and range
There’s only one version of the Jeep Avenger to lease in terms of performance and range. All versions come equipped with a 156bhp electric motor driving the front wheels, resulting in a 0-62mph time of 9.6 seconds.
There’s also only one battery option with the Avenger: a 54kWh pack that gives an official WLTP range of 249 miles regardless of trim level you choose. This translates to a real-world estimate of around 211 miles.
Decent rapid charging speeds of up to 100kW mean you can charge the Jeep Avenger from 10-80% in around 25 minutes.
