Mercedes-Benz boasts a growing range of electric cars for EV leasing under the ‘EQ’ banner, from the EQA small SUV to the EQS luxury range-topper. So where does the EQV fit in? It’s the brand’s fully electric people carrier, showing that it’s possible to combine van-like practicality and limo-like luxury into one car. With flexible seating for seven in comfort, it’s perfect for both large families and high-end business users.
Key highlights of the Mercedes-Benz EQV
For a long time there weren't many proper seven-seaters with fully electric power available to lease, but there’s now a growing number offering environmentally-friendly motoring for larger families. The Mercedes-Benz EQV was one of the first on scene, arriving in 2020.
Sharing components with the petrol or diesel V-Class, the uniquely-styled EQV is one of the only electric people carriers that offers real premium appeal. The interior offers limo-like luxury with lashings of leather and chrome, along with Mercedes’ excellent MBUX infotainment system.
Compared with a seven-seat SUV, the EQV offers far greater practicality. You still get a commanding driving position up front, but standard electric sliding doors offer superb access for the rear seats. With the battery cleverly mounted under the flat floor there’s no space compromise, and the roomy interior has flexible sliding seating to prioritise luggage or passenger space. You can even turn around the middle two captain’s chairs to face the rear-most seats.
These details make the EQV perfect as emissions-free executive transport, although well-heeled families will also appreciate the space and luxury. There’s more to the EQV than meets the eye.
Mercedes-Benz EQV performance & range
As a large, luxurious people carrier, the Mercedes-Benz EQV prioritises comfort and smoothness over speed and handling. However, it offers a stable and soothing driving experience, and with instant electric power feels faster than a 0-62mph time of 12.1 seconds suggests.
With a range of up to 213 miles on a single charge, the EQV is ideal for combining urban driving with the occasional longer trips. A decent charging speed of 110kW also means that if you do need to rapid charge on longer journeys, you’ll get the battery from 10-80% charge in around 40 minutes.

Similar models to the Mercedes-Benz EQV
There are a small number of electric people carriers available to lease, and the key competitor for the EQV in the premium space is the Volkswagen ID. Buzz. It’s not available with seven seats until 2023, however.
Less premium but similarly spacious electric leasing alternatives include the Citroen e-SpaceTourer and Vauxhall Vivaro Life. Mercedes-Benz’s own EQS model is a seven-seat SUV, but it’s not as roomy and is more expensive.

Although it’s the base trim level, the Sport edition still has plenty of excellent features, including 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, a panoramic sunroof, and a rear-view camera. The range is also slightly higher than the other options, at 213 miles.
The Sport Premium edition then adds extra features like heated front seats, a Burmester sound system and a leather steering wheel, along with the panoramic sunroof and rear-view camera with augmented reality capabilities.
As the top-of-the-line trim, the Sport Premium Plus includes a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a wireless charging pad.
Whichever option you choose, you’ll find a fantastic EQV lease deal with GRIDSERVE.
