The Renault Megane E-Tech is a compact family SUV that offers something for everyone. It has the strong looks you’d expect from Renault, a brand famed for its unique styling, combined with some truly impressive technology, comfort and practicality, all at an appealing price.
Key highlights of the Renault Megane E-Tech
The Megane name first debuted on UK roads way back in the mid-90s, and the new E-Tech model brings this established family car into the electric era. Renault has rolled out the red carpet when it comes to on-board tech, with an Android-based infotainment system that is as responsive to use as your smartphone – even the voice control works a treat. The Renault Megane E-Tech also offers some added eco-credentials, such as using 20kg of recycled materials within the construction and installing no rare earth metals in the motor. It’s practical, too, with space for five adults and a deep 440-litre boot.
Renault Megane E-Tech performance and range
The Megane E-Tech is impressive on the road with a 0-62mph time that matches most hot hatches. The 60kWh battery is enough for 280 miles, and if you do need to pull into the GRIDSERVE Electric Highway to top up enroute, you’ll get maximum charging speeds of 130kW (that’s 15-80% in just 30 minutes). Choosing which version you want is easy, too, with three trim levels offering various levels of luxury and no add-on packs or lengthy options list to confuse you.

The Renault Megane E-Tech has plenty of competition in both the compact SUV and family hatchback markets. For style and comfort try the Citroen e-C4, for all-round capability then look at the Volkswagen ID.3, or for something a little different, add the Cupra Born to your shortlist.
