SUVs have a reputation as eco-unfriendly gas guzzlers, but the Volkswagen ID.4 is out to change that. The German brand’s first battery-powered SUV is a practical and attractive car that offers VW quality and performance with zero emissions.
Developed as a big sibling to the compact Volkswagen ID.3 – the first all-electric car in the VW range – the ID.4 is aimed at those who need more power, more storage and even more range. With roof railings, an electrically driven boot lid and a towing bracket, the ID.4 is a versatile and spacious option for family and business use alike. Because it’s an all-electric vehicle, business customers will pay extra-low Benefit in Kind (BIK) tax rates on their ID.4 lease.
Key highlights
Comfort and safety are at the forefront with the VW ID.4. There’s a range of helpful features such as Front Assist, Lane Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control and front and rear parking sensors. The ID.4 is a smooth, quiet drive with a spacious cabin that includes 30-colour ambient lighting and a 10-inch infotainment display. VW’s own Discover Pro navigation system is another great asset.
Efficiency is a real strength of the ID.4, with its aerodynamic design distinguishing it from most SUVs on the market. It’s impressively easy to handle, too.
Performance & range
The VW ID.4 is proof that sustainability and performance can go hand-in-hand. If you lease the ID.4, you’ll have the choice of four models with two batteries: Pure and Pure Performance with a 52 kWh battery, and Pro Performance and GTX with 77 kWh. At the most basic end of the spectrum, that’s 148 hp and an acceleration time of about ten and a half seconds from zero to 60 mph. At the most powerful end – the impressive GTX – it’s 299 hp, and a stunning 0-60 time of about six seconds.
The choice of available ranges is impressive too, from up to 213 to a maximum of 322 miles on a single charge. With rapid charging as standard, the ID.4 is a practical choice for those long-distance journeys.
