GRIDSERVE has today announced the opening of its latest Electric Super Hub at Moto Lymm Services on the M6, delivering one of the UK’s largest ultra-rapid EV charging facilities at a motorway and significantly strengthening EV infrastructure in the North West.

Conveniently located at J20 of the M6 and J9 of the M56, this key location runs between Liverpool and Manchester. The Super Hub features 24 x 400kW-capable charging bays from launch, which are powerful enough for the latest electric vehicles to add up to 100 miles of range in less than 10 minutes. This latest provision is in addition to the six Medium Power EV charging bays already installed by GRIDSERVE, that will continue to support both CCS- and CHAdeMO-equipped vehicles. Only Moto Rugby Services, located 100-miles south with its 36 ultra-rapid EV charging bays, is able to boast more provision on the M6.

As with all GRIDSERVE Electric Super Hubs, the site is powered by 100% renewable energy and offers a simple ‘plug in and pay’ charging experience with contactless payment. Drivers charging at Moto Lymm Services can also take advantage of GRIDSERVE Plus, a membership offer that gives customers 25% off charging sessions at any of GRIDSERVE’s 200 locations, plus additional perks, making it an ideal service for frequent users of public charging.

Rebecca Trebble, Chief Customer Officer at GRIDSERVE, said: “As EV adoption continues to accelerate, drivers need more than just fast chargers; they need charging infrastructure they can depend on. That’s why we continue to invest heavily in large scale Electric Super Hubs like Moto Lymm, delivering high numbers of ultra-rapid charging bays at strategically important locations across the UK’s motorway network.

“By deploying charging infrastructure at this scale, and continuing to focus on enhancing speed and reliability, we’re giving drivers the confidence that charging will be available whenever they need it. Moto Lymm is a fantastic new hub for people traveling in and around the North West and another example as to why GRIDSERVE remains the UK’s most used EV charging network.”

Ken McMeikan, Chief Executive of Moto Hospitality, said: “We are passionate about transforming the EV charging experience across the UK motorway network. The expansion at Moto Lymm Services demonstrates the success of our partnership with GRIDSERVE and our shared ambition to provide high-quality, ultra-rapid charging at modern, well-equipped service areas. As EV adoption continues to accelerate, increasing capacity at key locations like Lymm is essential to meeting driver demand.”
