The Hyundai IONIQ 6 is the latest installment of the brand’s striking new-age electric car lineup. Following in the celebrated footsteps of the Ioniq 5, the IONIQ 6 gets a sleek, range-boosting shape, plenty of clever tech and super fast charging speeds.
Key highlights of the Hyundai IONIQ 6
The Hyundai Ioniq 6 is designed to stand out from the crowd with its eye-catching design. Even though it’s closely related underneath to its IONIQ 5 sibling, the 6 couldn’t look more different, with its curvaceous four-door coupe profile.
That sleek design has a purpose, though, as the slippery body cuts through the air more cleanly than the IONIQ 5, allowing for an even longer range on a charge. But that’s only one of the reasons the car has been globally recognised, winning the 2023 World Car of the Year award.
Key highlights include one of the fastest charging speeds on the market, which combines with a long range and strong comfort to make the IONIQ 6 a stress-free long distance companion.
There’s also an excellent level of standard equipment when you lease a Hyundai IONIQ 6, with entry-level premium trim including features such as front and rear heated seats, an electric tailgate and two 12.3-inch displays. Top-spec Ultimate trim includes kit such as ventilated front seats, a Bose sound system and digital side mirrors, which use cameras instead of door mirrors to project images onto another pair of screens in the dash.
Hyundai Ioniq 6 performance and range
You can prioritise range or performance with the Hyundai IONIQ 6. The longer-range rear-wheel drive version puts out 225bhp and is capable of 0-62mph in a perfectly respectable 7.4 seconds. Not enough? The all-wheel drive IONIQ 6 has 321bhp and drops the 0-62mph time down to 5.1 seconds.
Every Hyundai IONIQ 6 comes equipped with a 77kWh battery, which in rear-wheel drive models results in an official WLTP range of 339 miles - and a real-world range estimate of 288 miles. Four-wheel drive models see the range figures drop to 323 miles and 275 miles respectively.
All versions also have an impressive peak rapid charging speed of up to 233kW, allowing for a 10-80% charge in as little as 18 minutes.
