The Lexus RZ has a close relationship with the popular Toyota bZ4X, as the Lexus brand is owned by Toyota. The RZ is a premium family SUV designed to take on the big German car brands, and it’s the first Lexus to be built as an electric car from the ground up, meaning cabin space and technology has been optimised for zero-emission motoring.
Key highlights of the Lexus RZ
Lexus has always focused on comfort, luxury and technology – and the new all-electric RZ is no different. From the outside it gets the trademark Lexus grille, while a hefty 14-inch touchscreen dominates the minimalist cabin. For those wanting something a little different there’s a futuristic fighter pilot-style steering wheel – think Tesla’s yoke steering wheel only with more buttons.
The wheel is part of a new handling system that makes manoeuvring the car easier, especially at low speeds in town. The Lexus RZ also features a cool preconditioning function that goes a step beyond some. Heaters at knee level combine with heated seats and steering wheel to reduce the time it takes to heat the cabin, which in turn means less impact on battery range. For families, there’s a boot of around 500 litres and cabin space is on a par with bigger SUVs.
Traditional Lexus attributes remain, including almost unrivalled fit-and-finish and laser-focused attention-to-detail. Lexus also has one of the best reputations for reliability of any car company around today.
Lexus RZ performance and range
The Lexus RZ has dual motors which means it offers impressive performance off the line - 0-62mph in 5.6 seconds is plenty fast enough for a family car.
A range of over 250 miles is possible from the 71kWh battery and there’s a maximum 150kWh charging capability. That range may not seem as much as some rivals, but Lexus has developed a “Range” mode which will maximise miles by limiting the power and switching off non-essential systems to ensure you reach your destination.

Similar models to the Lexus RZ
The Lexus RZ has a range of natural rivals. The obvious options come from the established German brands, the BMW iX3 has plenty of driver appeal while the Audi Q4 e-tron is an impressive all-rounder, and the seven-seat Mercedes-Benz EQB shouldn’t be dismissed. For something a bit more unusual, we’d also recommend the Genesis GV60 with its impressive range and charging capability.

We've made leasing an electric car easier than ever
As a family-friendly SUV that prioritises luxury, there are a range of reasons why leasing the Lexus RZ is a great option. For example, the luxurious interior includes features like heated and cooled seats, a panoramic sunroof and a 14-speaker Mark Levinson sound system. It’s got strong performance figures too, with 308 horsepower and a 0-62 mph time of just 5.6 seconds.
By leasing rather than buying outright or choosing another costly finance option, you can save money too, particularly in the very short term. You’ll not need to worry about depreciation either, as you simply hand the car back to us at the end of the deal, hassle-free.
When you choose a Lexus RZ lease deal with GRIDSERVE, you can benefit from three months of free charging across all electric car chargers on the GRIDSERVE Electric Highway. Simply find the closest charging station to you, charge your RZ EV and swipe the contactless card we send you. It’s that simple!
The RZ model has an official range of 245 miles according to WLTP figures, which equates to around 208 miles as a real-world estimate. This is more than enough for day-to-day trips for the family, from the school run to work trips. There are steps you can take to get the most out of your RZ’s range too, including driving more smoothly, travelling light, keeping your tyres inflated, making use of regenerative braking systems, switching off unnecessary features and more.
The Lexus RZ can be charged from 10-80% capacity in just 30 minutes when using a 150kW DC fast charger, which is a very competitive figure at this end of the market.
At the end of your RZ leasing contract, you’ll be presented with a few options to choose from. You can either return the vehicle as per the standard procedure, consider a contract extension for the RZ vehicle, or decide to lease a different model instead.
By returning the RZ model to us, the vehicle will go through standard wear and tear and mileage tests as is normal at the end of any leasing deal. If you want to keep the car, then you can get in contact with our friendly team who will be able to discuss your possibilities with you. If another vehicle has caught your eye, you can check through our list of EV leasing options.
The cost of leasing an RZ electric car will differ based on various factors. These factors include the duration of the lease, the chosen annual mileage, whether it's a personal or business lease, the initial rental payment period, and the specific variant of RZ you opt for.
Currently, the RZ Premium edition is often considered one of the more affordable lease options for the RZ. However, it's important to note that prices may fluctuate over time. To stay updated on the most recent pricing for your preferred model, we recommend regularly checking for updates.
