If you’re a fan of the Peugeot 2008, you’re going to love the e-2008. This attractive and well-equipped small SUV is a great choice for anyone looking to lease a robust and versatile electric car. It’s a strong rival for other small SUVs on the EV market, such as the Kia Niro EV and the Hyundai Kona Electric.
The e-2008 is suitable for both business and personal leasing. Business customers will pay a super-low Benefit in Kind (BIK) rate on their e-2008 lease.
Key Peugeot e-2008 highlights
A small family electric car that’s big on style, the little Peugeot e-2008 is a great choice for buyers looking for a compact SUV that’s more eco-friendly than a petrol or diesel equivalent.
From the outside the e-2008 looks much like its ICE-powered 2008 sibling, bar a charging socket in place of the fuel filler flap and some tweaks to the badging and grille. It’s no bad thing that the changes are discreet, because the 2008 is already one of the most stylish cars in its class thanks to Peugeot’s French flair.
Despite its compact size, the e-2008 is pretty spacious. The 405-litre boot is ideal for a small family - fold the seats down, and you can up that to 1471 litres, too. The comfortable and upmarket interior also comes loaded full of kit no matter which version you go for.
On the road the Peugeot e-2008 majors on comfort and quietness, but it’s also agile around town thanks to quick steering. That makes it ideal if you’re an urban driver who ventures out of town on occasion.
As with all Peugeot EVs, you can use the dedicated MyPeugeot app to check your car’s charging status and set your climate control from a distance. These and many other features make for an user-friendly experience.
Peugeot e-2008 performance & range
The Peugeot e-2008 offers the instant acceleration you’d expect of an electric car, and while it won’t win any drag races a 0-62mph time of nine seconds is perky enough for most people’s needs.
Similarly, an official range of between 206 and 226 miles from a modest 50kWh battery (or about 190 miles in the real-world) is enough for the regular commute, school run and local shopping, plus the odd longer trip.
You won’t need to be afraid of those longer journeys, either, as a maximum 101kW rapid charging rate means a suitable high power charger (such as those on GRIDSERVE’s Electric Highway. And because its battery isn’t huge, it’s efficient and cheap to charge.

Similar models to the Peugeot e-2008
If you don’t need quite as much space as the Peugeot e-2008 then we’d check out the closely related Vauxhall Mokka-e. It’s powered by the same motor and battery but has an even more distinctive design. The premium DS3 E-Tense and spacious Citroen e-C4 are also related under the skin.
Outside of that lot the Hyundai Kona electric and Kia Niro EV are both capable choices with longer ranges, while the MG ZS EV isn’t as stylish but is more spacious and better value for money.

We've made leasing an electric car easier than ever
Peugeot is a popular car brand thanks to its range of stylish and well-equipped models, with the e-2008 being a fantastic example of this. It’s available in a full range of trim levels, boasts impressive comfort levels, has immense practicality and a unique modern design. It’s a brilliant option when you’re looking to lease your next electric car.
When you lease an e-2008 or any other model with GRIDSERVE you can also benefit from tax, insurance and maintenance being included as part of the deal, plus exclusive offers, access to the hundreds of chargers across the UK with our GRIDSERVE Electric Highway and sun to wheel ecosystem.
The entry-level version of the e-2008 is the Active Premium+ which includes a lot of great features as standard, such as a touchscreen infotainment system featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, along with rear parking sensors, privacy glass, four USB charging ports and 16-inch alloy wheels.
The Allure Premium+ adds an extra inch onto the wheels, with 17-inch Salamanca alloys instead, while also adding a built-in satnav system, a 180-degree reversing camera and a digital instrument display with 3D graphics.
The GT is the higher spec edition and has 18-inch alloy wheels, along with loads of other features and technology. These include a panoramic glass roof, Alcantara heated seats, a widescreen digital driver’s display, 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitoring.
If you have chosen a personal car lease and it will just be you driving the e-2008, then your price will automatically include VAT as part of the package, however, a business car lease deal excludes any VAT. This explains why personal deals are listed as being slightly more expensive than business deals.
The range of your Peugeot e-2008 model will depend on the exact specifications of the edition you choose. The maximum range at the time of writing is 226 miles of official range, which relates to around 192 miles as a real world estimate. There are everyday factors that will affect the range though, including the weather, the weight of the car and the health of the battery.
