British car company Vauxhall was founded in 1857, making it one of the oldest vehicle manufacturers in the UK. The very first Vauxhall cars entered production as early as 1903, and today the brand is known for combining innovative British design with precision German engineering, producing cars that are both reliable, and enjoyable to drive.
In 2021, Vauxhall became part of the Stellantis Group, alongside other major car brands like Citroen and Peugeot. This marked a huge step forward for Vauxhall, enabling the manufacturer to reshape their more traditional designs with influence from the closest competition. Today’s Vauxhalls are better than ever thanks to the partnership. The latest Corsa, for example, exhibits the traditional Vauxhall reliability alongside the Peugeot 208’s unbeatable practicality and comfort.
Vauxhall: a fully electric brand?
Vauxhall is a major player in the EV leasing market, with an extensive collection of electric cars and vans. The firm’s Ellesmere Port facility in Cheshire became the very first Stellantis Group plant to produce a fully electric model, leading the way in the shift to eco-friendly driving. The company has big ambitions for the future, aiming to offer an electric alternative to every petrol-powered Vauxhall by 2024, and to become a 100% electric car brand by 2028.
While some manufacturers focus on either MPVs, SUVs, or smaller economy cars, Vauxhall does it all. When it comes to larger models, the Combo Life (and Combo-e Life electric alternative) and the Vivaro Life (and Vivaro-e Life electric alternative) are big names in the family-sized van landscape. For smaller car EV leasing, there are plenty of options, including the Corsa-e which is modelled after the classic Vauxhall Corsa, and the Mokka-e, which electrifies the brand’s smart-looking petrol Mokka.
As part of the Stellantis Group, there are a number of similar brands to consider if you’re not sure about leasing a Vauxhall Electric car. Peugeot and Citroen both offer a range of electric vehicles, many of which share a number of characteristics with Vauxhall’s electric car and van collection.

The electric car leasing market is dominated by small SUVs. If that’s the type of vehicle you’re looking for, you’ve got a huge amount of choice. However, very few look as smart as the Mokka-e. In fact, the original petrol-powered Mokka from Vauxhall won the ‘Design of the Year’ award in 2021, and the firm’s fully electric alternative shares all the same impressive aesthetic features, both inside and out.

The Vivaro-e Life is the largest vehicle in the Vauxhall fully electric range, which includes the popular – but smaller – Corsa-e and Mokka-e cars.
