The Vivaro-e Life is the largest vehicle in the Vauxhall fully electric range, which includes the popular – but smaller – Corsa-e and Mokka-e cars. It’s modelled after the manufacturer’s original petrol-powered Vivaro Life van; the ‘Van of the Year’ for 2021. The electric alternative itself was crowned ‘Medium Van of the Year’ for 2022, making it one of the best choices for van-sized EV leasing.

Vauxhall calls its Vivaro-e Life van a ‘lounge on wheels’, and it’s easy to see why. Not only does the van offer a huge amount of interior space for both driver and passengers, but it’s also very flexible, allowing you to configure the layout to create the most comfortable on-the-road experience.

Every seat in this spacious 9-seater can be moved forwards and backwards as needed. And, perhaps best of all, the middle row of seats can be swivelled to face either the front or the rear, depending on what’s most comfortable for the family. Being in the back of this van is a true joy, with the panoramic sunroof spreading lots of natural light into what can be a fairly dark space in similar vehicles.

Performance & range

With 143 miles to a single charge, you can travel a decent distance in the Vivaro-e Life van without having to stop for a recharge. And when you do, a rapid charge will get it to 80% in just 30 minutes. Acceleration is, as you’d probably expect with this size of vehicle, pretty slow. It goes from 0-62 miles per hour in 13.1 seconds, which is fairly typical for any van, electric or not.

Similar models

If you’re really keen on leasing a Vauxhall electric car, the Combo-e Life is the next largest EV in the Vauxhall range. It’s a good-sized van, but with only 5 seats, it’s got nowhere near the capacity of the Vivaro-e Life. If it’s seats you need, the 9-seater Citroen e-SpaceTourer is perhaps the only other option for electric car leasing that will tick all the right boxes. However, if you can get away with a 7-seater, consider the Citroen e-Berlingo and the Mercedes-Benz EQV, both of which are great choices.
