The Nissan Townstar is the company’s latest small electric panel van, replacing the eNV200. Nissan has taken all its learnings from the popular eNV200 to give this latest model more performance, efficiency and technology than ever before.
Key highlights
The Nissan Townstar comes in L1 and L2 versions, which basically means short- or long-wheelbase versions. The L2 version measures nearly 5m in length, although both models benefit from sliding side doors and rear barn doors to maximise flexibility. Loading capacity ranges between 3.3 and 4.3m3, the latter providing enough space to lay two Euro Pallets side-by-side. Beyond the swanky 10-inch digital dashboard and an eight-inch infotainment system, there’s also plenty of useful technology on offer, including the optional Around View Monitor which uses four cameras around the car to provide a 360° birds-eye view of your vehicle for easier manoeuvring.
Performance and range
The Townstar uses a 44kWh battery and can offer up to 184 miles of range - that's around 50% more than the eNV200 it replaces - while its 75kW maximum charging rate means 0-80 per cent will take just over 40 minutes. Entry-level Visia trim levels also provide 11kW AC charging, but if you go for Accenta, Tekna or Tekna+ trim levels, you’ll get 22kW AC charging as standard – great for keeping your fleet fully-charged at the office. Usefully, the Nissan Townstar also features the ability for owners to remotely set the climate control - perfect for those cold early starts - as well as schedule your charge, taking advantage of off-peak energy tariffs.
