As the UK continues its transition to electric vehicles (EVs), GRIDSERVE is focused on making the charging experience better for everyone — and that includes families. Long gone are the days when a charging stop meant bored children waiting in the car. Thanks to GRIDSERVE’s new Play As You Charge game, young visitors can now learn about the planet, clean energy, and electric vehicles through a fun and interactive quiz.
What is ‘Play as you
Play As You Charge is a mobile game designed for children aged 6 to 9. It encourages kids to explore our Electric Forecourt® spaces and find four friendly animated characters as they go, ultimately unlocking short climate-themed quizzes. By answering the questions correctly, children learn about renewable energy, sustainability, and how electric vehicles help protect the environment.

Children taking part in the Play As You Charge game will meet four colourful, animated characters, each representing part of GRIDSERVE’s clean energy journey:

Each character is hidden around the site on one of our digital screens When you find them, just scan the QR code next to the character and it’ll open a fun quiz on a mobile browser; no download required (free guest Wi-Fi is available too!).
Once your little one finds all four characters, they can collect a prize from our retail team and, of course, proudly call themselves a “climate hero”.
