GRIDSERVE is marking St David’s Day with the extension of its popular Electric Super Hub at Roadchef Magor Services, bringing ultra-rapid Electric Vehicle (EV) charging to one of Wales’ busiest motorway routes.

Conveniently located at Junction 23A on the M4 near Newport, the extended hub now features 12 ultra-rapid charging bays, including two enlarged, fully-accessible bays. Each bay has access to the latest 360kW-capable chargers, powerful enough for the latest electric vehicle models to acquire 100 miles of range in less than 10 minutes. As with all GRIDSERVE locations, the electricity supplied is backed by net zero energy, reinforcing the company’s mission to deliver sustainable infrastructure that accelerates the shift away from fossil fuels.

Each charger is available 24/7 and supports contactless payment, providing simple, accessible charging, while EV drivers also have convenient access to McDonald’s, Costa Coffee and Leon while they wait.

The extended Electric Super Hub at Roadchef Magor Services strengthens GRIDSERVE’s growing presence in Wales and supports the nation’s transition to cleaner transport. Strategically positioned on the M4 corridor – a key route connecting South Wales with England – the site will serve commuters, local residents and long-distance travellers with dependable, high-power charging where and when they need it most.

Rebecca Trebble, Chief Customer Officer at GRIDSERVE, said: “St David’s Day is the perfect moment to open our new and improved Electric Super Hub in Wales. Roadchef Magor Services is a vital stop on the M4, and we’re proud to deliver 12 ultra-rapid, 360kW-capable EV charging bays here. Whether drivers are commuting, heading to the coast or travelling further afield, they can now add up to 100 miles of range in less than 10 minutes – helping make electric driving easier and more convenient than ever.”
